About Me

I’m a content creator and communications specialist currently based in Killara, Victoria.

With over ten years’ experience in content creation, marketing, and communications, I’m enthusiastic about creating engaging and impactful content for a range of audiences.

No matter which job I’ve had, whether I was running my online business or working for local government, I’ve always been drawn to content creation. I’m a natural storyteller, but I also enjoy using guidelines to write for specific audiences. I’ve written speeches for the Mayor of Wodonga, playful LinkedIn posts for Billson’s Beverages, and a compassionate non-fiction book to support people with their mental health.

I’ve also worked with clients, including IBM, Audible, R U OK Day, Bupa, and The Anxiety Recovery Centre to deliver specific projects. My writing has featured on The New York Times, Better Humans, Huffington Post and MindBodyGreen, and I’ve written hundreds of articles for my award-winning blog.

I greatly value a supportive team culture and enjoy building strong connections with my team, stakeholders, and other collaborators. I’m friendly, compassionate and treat people with respect. My previous manager described me as having a “calming influence on the team” and I believe this helped us navigate some challenges and tight deadlines.

What I can bring to the team…

I’m a fast writer and I enjoy creating a variety of content, from articles to internal communications. I’ve used various content management systems, including Wordpress and Squarespace, and I enjoy the challenge of learning new platforms. I have a solid understanding of SEO and several of my articles continue to rank highly on Google.

I’ve had strong experience with marketing campaigns, including promoting the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Scheme at Wodonga Council, launching my book and online courses, and managing Billson’s LinkedIn page to enhance brand awareness and reputation.

I’m a big fan of style and brand guidelines to create consistent and cohesive content. I’d happily learn the guidelines and assist other university staff to implement them.

With my background in psychology, I’m compassionate and open-minded and I genuinely care about the wellbeing of others. I enjoy building relationships with my colleagues and collaborating on projects.

I highly value team meetings and building connections with my team. I thrive when I have regular meetings with my manager and I happily take direction and feedback. While I’m an easygoing person, I care greatly about my work and doing the best I can.

I’m also creative and enjoy brainstorming and finding solutions or new approaches. If something doesn’t go to plan, I stay calm under pressure and think before I react. With a strong drive for learning, I like taking on different challenges and gaining new skills and experiences.

A bit more about me

I have a little dog called Minnie and one of our favourite things to do is stand up paddle boarding. She can’t swim very well so she has a tiny yellow life jacket!

My indoor garden is a little out of control and I have about 50 plants. Apparently, it’s good for the air quality (at least, that’s what I tell my husband).

I enjoy writing so much that I create short stories in my spare time.

Learning new things gets me fired up! I love listening to podcasts, researching interesting topics, putting articles together, talking to people, and gaining new skills. I’ve completed multiple online courses, including Copywriting for Creatives, The Content Lab, and an SEO Certification Course.

My personality type is INFJ and some of my key strengths are creativity, compassion and diligence. I genuinely care about other people and I believe working in a friendly and supportive team is really important.

I’m a big reader (mostly of small town rom-coms) and I love spending a Sunday afternoon in the sunshine, sipping a glass of chilled wine and reading a great book.

Even though I’m an introvert, I value meeting new people and building strong relationships, both online and in person. I’m part of an online writer’s group and I love going to local events.
